FAQ

There is a lot of misinformation being disseminated about these two terms. They are both a tattoo but differ in their technique and intended result. Any time color pigment is placed into the skin with any device, it is a tattoo process as defined by well-informed regulators and the medical community. Microblading is just a different name for permanent makeup just like micropigmentation, dermal implantation and micro-stroking are used to describe permanent makeup. Microblading is a permanent procedure when you see “semi-permanent” advertised it is not accurate and misleading. Once pigment is implanted into the skin it will be altered no matter how much fading happens. You need to understand no one can promise that the pigment implanted into your skin will be completely gone by a certain time.

Permanent makeup a manual hand piece or machine with different size needles to implant the pigment into the skin. The pigment is deposited in the dermal layer of the skin about the depth of a dime. It’s a very important factor to know exactly where you are placing the pigment so you retain those crisp hair strokes.

Microblading is best on drier skin types have the best results; they tend to retain pigment the best and keep the crispest strokes. Oilier skin types will work, as well, but tend to heal a little softer and less crisp and sometimes fade quicker.

For the first couple of days, for either procedure, your brows will be bolder, darker and sharper. Around day four or five, you may start to experience some mild flaking. It is very important not to pick! Picking the flakes or scabs prematurely can pull out the pigment and lead to loss of or no color in those spots. After this time, there may be changes to the color, even appearing too light. Please wait for six weeks to judge your results; you then will be returning for your touch-up appointment.

Brow artistry is a meticulous process of shaping your brows using primarily tweezing and trimming to shape your brows; waxing is used only to remove hairs outside the design area above and below the brows. Over-tweezed, overgrown, damaged, disappearing/thinned, scarred, uneven/misshapen brows can all be transformed using this technique. It should be noted it may take a few sessions before over-tweezed misshapen brows to achieve our desired result since we may need to wait for more hair to grow in.

I often recommend tinting in addition to brow artistry in order restore areas of the brow that have faded with age, misshaping the appearance of the brows.

In some cases, brow artistry with may obviate the need or delay the need for permanent makeup
